This bi-directional IO-Link inductive coupler enables transfer of power and data over a small air gap. This makes it suitable for use in industrial spaces where getting I/O in hard-to-reach places or to moving components is a challenge. The coupler has a compact IP67 housing (40 x 40 x 70 mm) and offers 32 bytes of bi-directional data transfer over a standard four-pole M12 sensor cable. It is rated for 500 mA at a 5-mm gap with 24-V power. IO-Link uses standard four-pole sensor cables and enables the connections to sensor hubs, actuation devices or IO-Link smart devices seamlessly, which helps to reduce cable clutter in industrial automation environments while allowing for large amounts of data transfer.
