Three compact communication modules and an industrial router work with the company's Simatic S7-1200 controller. The compact CP 1243-1, CP 1243-1 DNP3, and CP 1243-1 IEC communications modules connect the controller via the company's Telecontrol Basic and Telecontrol Professional systems to higher-level systems or a control center. Intended for small data volumes, the CP 1243-1 module is based on the Telecontrol Basic system. The CP 1243-1 DNP3 and CP 1243-1 IEC communication modules establish the connections according to DNP3 and IEC 60870-5-104 telecontrol protocols. The communications modules are easily connected to third-generation mobile wireless (UMTS) with the Scalance M874-3 industrial router.
