Panduit, a global network infrastructure solutions company, have signed a partner agreement with Cailabs, a French deep tech company and expert in light beam shaping, for the global rights to integrate Cailabs technology within Panduit’s OneMode product portfolio. This is a far-reaching partnership that includes, among other elements of the relationship, exclusive use of the technology for the K-12 education market in the United States.

Panduit’s OneMode is a passive media converter allowing the deployment of 10 Gbps, 50 Gbps and faster, using existing multimode fibers, by eliminating modal dispersion. This provides a flexible and affordable solution that reduces the investment in upgrading the multimode cabling infrastructure says Panduit. Regardless of the network topology, OneMode can transport 10 Gbps or more, and can support the evolution in network traffic, without long, complex and expensive new cable deployment. According to Panduit, OneMode is attractive to the K-12, university, healthcare, enterprise, industrial, and other campus markets because they do not need to trench or rip and replace with new fiber to upgrade their network infrastructure.

"Cailabs is an ideal partner for Panduit to bring significant value to our customers," said David Weksel, director of strategic growth for Panduit. "This leading-edge technology allows customers with existing fiber backbones running 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps to upgrade performance by up to 100x or better at a fraction of the installation time and cost of traditional upgrade methods. This disrupts the need to replace old multimode with singlemode fiber while protecting investments in the network for years to come."

"Panduit’s global reach, depth of distribution, and how they embrace innovation to meet or exceed customer expectations makes them a strong match for Cailabs," said Jean-François Morizur, Cailabs CEO. "We’re looking forward to collaborating with Panduit to make OneMode the go-to solution for customers looking to optimize their multimode fiber networks in a campus environment."
