The deal is meant to enhance TT’s ability to engineer complete power converters
TT Electronics, a global provider of engineered electronics for performance critical applications, have acquired Covina, a US-based business that designs and manufactures power electronics for defense and aerospace markets. Covina is a California-based business unit from Excelitas Technologies.
According to TT Electronics, the acquisition of this business unit from Excelitas enhances its US presence in power electronics for aerospace and defense, providing access to growth programs with sole-source positions. TT says the acquisition adds a number of blue-chip US defense primes to the company’s customer base.
"The Covina business is a clear fit with TT’s strategy to build leading positions in the aerospace and defense markets where the proliferation of electronics is driving demand for our power solutions," said Michael Leahan, EVP Power Solutions North America, TT Electronics. "We are excited to welcome Covina employees and customers to TT, and remain committed to providing value-added engineering solutions and world-class service through the development of strategic partnerships."
