Daifuku North AmericaĀ recently opened its new headquarters in Novi, Michigan . The ceremony was attended by Governor of Michigan Rick SnyderĀ along with Masaki Hojo, president and CEO of Daifuku, Aki Nishimura, president and CEO of Daifuku North America and Mayor Pro Tempore of Novi David Staudt.
The new facility will be dedicated to showcasing the companyās material handling solutions and equipment and will also be used for testing and design purposes. The nearly 77,000-square-foot facility houses more than 300 employees and includes the companyās in-house demonstration center and Factory Acceptance Testing Center.
"As a growing company, we are thrilled to be able to stay right here in the Metro Detroit area," Nishimura said.Ā "In past decades, we have certainly benefitted from Southeastern Michiganās vast pool of talented engineering professionals and other skilled laborers that are essential to maintaining the staffing needs of a vibrant, growing company; and the coming years will be no different."
According to the company, the facility represents a step towards Daifuku North Americaās future growth and expansion plans as it has plans to create 85 new jobs in Michigan before 2019. The majority of these jobs will be created in Novi, with the balance at the firmās manufacturing facilities in Boyne City, MI and Harbor Springs, MI.
