Students from the University of Pittsburgh’s Swanson School of Engineering participated in a career panel on electrical engineer hiring criteria with panelists from Eaton, the university and Duquesne Light Company. The panel was followed by a tour of Eaton’s Power Systems Experience Center in Warrendale, Pennsylvania.
In Peachtree City, interior design students from the Savannah College of Art and Design participated in a lighting design training session at Eaton’s SOURCE Lighting Education Center. Students will also have the opportunity to tour Eaton’s Lighting Innovation Center to learn more about the development, testing and manufacturing of the fixtures behind the designs.
“Eaton’s SOURCE has set the benchmark for educational facilities in the lighting industry,” said Eaton’s Rebecca Hadley-Catter, LC, LEED AP, IES, IESNA, manager, SOURCE Lighting Education Center. Many universities visit the SOURCE facility each semester, allowing students to experience lighting, make side-by-side comparisons, and learn about which specific fixtures and technologies are appropriate for various applications.
