IPS broadens service coverage along the Gulf Coast with its seventh southeast service center.

Integrated Power Services (IPS), provider of services and resale opportunities of electric motors, generators and mechanical power transmission components, has purchased the Industrial Repair Division of Higgins Electric, Inc. in Dothan, Ala.

The acquisition of the Dothan Service Center ─ combined with recent announcements of new service center openings in Erie, Penn., and southwest Louisiana ─ expands IPS to 25 locations across North America.

This is the sixth strategic acquisition by IPS since 2008, including the prior purchases of Electro-Mec, The Monarch Electric Group, TRICO TCWIND, Industrial Apparatus Service and KVA Dynamo/B+B Dynamo & Armature/King’s Electric Motors.

“This acquisition is an important step for IPS as we continue to further expand in the Gulf Coast region to better serve our customer base,” said John Zuleger, IPS president and CEO. “We were impressed with Higgins Electric’s people, values and their capabilities and look forward to integrating them with our service offering coast to coast. We continue to execute on our strategic plan to diversify, strengthen and grow our business and provide our customers with safety, quality, customer service and value."
