Ramen Sensor Technology to Help Expand E+H's Range in the Field of Advanced Analytics

A recent acquisition will allow process automation specialist Endress+Hauser (E+H) to strengthen its analytical offerings.

Spectrographic instrumentation and applied holographic technology provider Kaiser Optical Systems' (KOS) parent company Rockwell Collins (RC) signed an agreement with E+H last week. The transaction is expected to be completed in the next months, according to E+H.

Klaus Endress, CEO of E+H, says KOS principal product Ramen sensor technology will help E+H expand its range in the field of advanced analytics for liquids, gases and solids. "In addition, we are strengthening our optical measurement technology and manufacturing competence," said Endress. "The Raman technology expands our offering for customers in core industries. It plays an important role in many future key markets such as power and energy and biotechnology, as well as laboratory applications – a significant and growing business."

"This transaction provides Kaiser Optical Systems with the resources and expertise better suited to the industries it serves, and helps Rockwell Collins keep its focus on strengthening the company's core communication and aviation electronics business for commercial and military customers," said Kelly Ortberg, president and CEO of RC.

Klaus expects both companies to see growth in sales and services as a result of the acquisition.
