Yokogawa Becomes Member of HART Communication Foundation Board of Directors

Corporate Fellow Kimikazu Takahashi to Expand Yokogawa's Participation, Contributions to Foundation's Executive Committee, Marketing Committee and Technology Working Group

Since Yokogawa launched its first HART-enabled product in 1993, the company has been an active member of HART Communication Foundation's executive committee, marketing committee and technology working groups, according to the foundation.

The foundation announced Yokogawa Corporate Fellow Kimikazu Takahashi has joined its board of directors, to continue its investments in resources to support HART Communication technology. ABB, Emerson Process Management, Endress+Hauser, Honeywell and Siemens are also foundation board members.

"We are very pleased to have Yokogawa participate on our board of directors and contribute their valuable expertise and support to advance HART technology and foundation programs," said Ron Helson, executive director of the foundation. "With their extensive knowledge of field instrumentation, control and data acquisition systems, they actively support and advance the integration and communication between HART field devices and host systems. Yokogawa sees HART Communication as one of key automation technologies to help industrial facilities achieve significant increases in efficiency and cost effectiveness."

As a member of the foundation, Yokogawa will be able to expand its leadership role and promote HART Communication in regions such as Japan and Asia-Pacific. Yokogawa will also have the opportunity to be more active in the advancement of the Compliance Testing and Registration program for HART host systems, according to Takahashi.

"HART is an important technology for the process automation industry," Takahashi said. "Yokogawa supports foundation standards and technologies, including WirelessHART, and appreciates the opportunity to participate on the foundation board of directors"
