SPS Electric Automation makes U.S. debut

PS Electric Automation America 2005 is billed as the first North American exhibition and symposium dedicated exclusively to industrial automation. Brought to this country by Messe Frankfurt Inc., the organizers of the European SPS/IPC/DRIVES show, the inaugural U.S. event will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., May 23–26, 2005.

The conference program, which begins a day earlier than the trade show, has a concentrated focus on vertical technologies (see SPS Conference & Seminar Program Highlights below) and is tuned to attract OEM machine builders and other production equipment development and design engineers seeking solutions for current and future applications.

The conference’s full schedule of technical paper sessions, panel discussions, and professional seminars has a tight focus and covers the design, manufacture, standardization, and use of automation technologies, as well as industry directions and electric automation component trends. Meanwhile, more than 100 exhibitors are slated to display their wares and represent automation and motion-control technologies ranging from discrete components to complete, highly integrated automation systems.

Jim Pinto to Deliver Keynote
Jim Pinto, technology futurist, industrial automation commentator, analyst and founder of Action Instruments, has been tapped to deliver the keynote address “Automation Unplugged Global Markets in the New Century,” before the exhibits open on May 24. Says Pinto: “Productivity is now a global race between regions and nations. Those who can make things cheaper, faster, better—win!”Author of the best seller “Automation Unplugged,” Pinto will outline what companies must do to develop and maintain leadership in the new century.
