The vertical pump motor provider will expand ABB’s NEMA motors division
ABB completed the acquisition of Aurora Motors, a vertical pump motor provider, with engineering and operations in Shanghai, China, and corporate office and distribution center in Hayward, California. The acquisition will allow ABB’s NEMA motors division to expand its product offerings, supply chain and customer support.
The global NEMA motor industry is roughly $3.4 billion in size, according to ABB, and comprises industrial electric motors primarily used within North America. NEMA motors are used to run equipment in industries such as food and beverage, oil and gas, mining and aggregate, and water and wastewater and in applications that move air, liquids and other materials.
