May 29, 2025
World Magnetics has launched World Magnetics Distribution to cater to North American OEMs, acquiring Royal Distributors to strengthen its operations and global presence.

Sensor and switch provider World Magnetics has launched World Magnetics Distribution to serve North American original equipment manufacturers. As part of the expansion, World Magnetics has acquired Royal Distributors.

“This acquisition is about evolution and growth,” says Martin Paul, president and owner of World Magnetic Companies. “By bringing RDI into our fold, we’re building upon their customer service legacy by combining it with our engineering heritage and global partner network, strengthening our local operations while expanding our international footprint.”

With the unified integration of these companies, World Magnetics Distribution expects shorter lead times on products, with U.S.-stocked inventory, an expanded product catalog and more access to global brands.

World Magnetics was founded in 1962 and is headquartered in Traverse City, Michigan. The company employs 35 local workers, and it says that the new launch and acquisition mark a milestone in the company’s growth and its continued investment in the region as a global provider.
