Airline Hydraulics, distributor of machine automation, fluid power and safety products, has been approved as a voting member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B11 Standards Development Committee (B11 SDC) on machinery safety.
This appointment places Airline among 37 organizations nationwide with direct authority to develop machinery safety standards.
“This voting authority represents more than recognition; it is a responsibility,” said Mark Steffens, chief executive officer of Airline. “It marks a significant step forward in our mission to ensure that every worker goes home safe and sound at the end of each day.”
The ANSI B11 SDC develops American national standards and technical reports to safeguard against workplace machinery hazards, while also addressing technologies, industry practices, global strategic initiatives and standards alignment issues.
Ryan Hayworth, Airline’s appointed voting representative, emphasized both professional fulfillment and broader industry impact. “I was proud when I earned my Rheinland TÜV certification in 2016 because it pushed me to master the complexities of machinery safety,” said Hayworth. “But, after that achievement, I struggled to find a community where I could continue growing in this field. Joining the ANSI B11 committee changed that for me. Even before we earned voting authority, every meeting felt like a training session with the nation’s top experts. Now, I’m not just learning from the best; I’m actively shaping standards that guide industry practice. That expertise comes back with me to Airline, Machine & Process Safety Assessment (MPSA) Group, and most importantly, to our customers.”
Hayworth added: “What makes this milestone so meaningful is that this is more than a professional achievement; it is a passion. I am deeply committed to helping ensure that every worker returns home safely, and now I have the privilege to help shape the standards that make that possible.”
