Honeywell, Danfoss merge process control systems with VFD technology through collaboration

The collaboration integrates Danfoss' VFD technology directly into Honeywell's Experion PKS platform
Dec. 17, 2025

Honeywell and Danfoss’ latest collaboration directly targets long-standing integration challenges between variable frequency drives and distributed control systems.

At the 2025 Honeywell Users Group EMEA conference, executives from both companies detailed the integration of their systems to achieve lower expenses while boosting process performance, Automation World reported.

By embedding Danfoss VFD functionality and data natively into Honeywell’s Experion PKS platform, the partnership reduces engineering effort, simplifies system architecture and improves operational transparency. Modern drives are treated as intelligent field devices rather than standalone components, streaming electrical, mechanical and process data into the control layer.

This tighter integration promises lower lifecycle costs, improved process stability and easier commissioning, while giving controls teams deeper insight into drive- and motor-level behavior from within the main automation environment.

The phased roadmap is especially relevant to machine and system builders. To find out how, read the full article from Automation World, available here.
