Dutch system integrator Syncore, formerly Reesink, and European AI robotics company Sereact strengthened their partnership at LogiMat, the intralogistics show in Stuttgart, Germany. The two companies have targeted the rollout of more than 100 robotic systems over the coming years. This expansion underscores their shared belief that AI-based robotics will transform intralogistics.

Sereact robots are already in use by some of Syncore’s fulfillment service providers and retail customers, including Deltilog, Monta and World of Sweets. Experience from these projects shows that the demand for flexible, AI-supported automation is growing, noted Machiel van den Hazelkamp, CCO of Syncore.

"The results we are seeing with our customers have completely convinced us," said van den Hazelkamp. “We believe in strong scaling effects and expect AI-based robotics to become the standard in warehouse logistics in the coming years.”

In addition to pick-and-place applications, in which Sereact robots autonomously pick up and place a wide variety of items without prior training and AI-based inventory monitoring with Sereact Lens, the partnership is now also focusing more on returns handling.

Returns are a logistics pain point. Sereact's new dual-arm robotics are designed to address this issue by opening up a new field of application. The two-armed robot stations can handle returns, inspect them and store them again. Both companies intend to leverage that potential together.

"Returns handling is one of the biggest cost drivers for many of our customers. The fact that Sereact can now automate this process opens up an application field that our customers have been asking for for a long time," van den Hazelkamp explained.

Each robotic system generates data from real-world operation, which Sereact's Cortex AI model learns from. The more robots in use, the more powerful all systems become. It's a process of continuous self-improvement that gains momentum with each new installation.

"The fact that Syncore is expanding the partnership so soon with a letter of intent for more than 100 robot systems shows that our technology is proving its worth in real-world applications, not just in the showroom,” emphasized Ralf Gulde, Sereact's CEO and co-founder. "With every robot in the field, our AI improves. That's exactly what makes this partnership so valuable for both sides."
