Endress+Hauser inaugurates campus in France
Endress+Hauser inaugurated its company campus in Cernay, in the Alsace region of France on October 2. The event was attended by customers, partners, company employees and business and government representatives. Endress+Hauser has been manufacturing flowmeters in Cernay for customers worldwide since 1991. With the relocation of around 140 employees from the sales center in Huningue to Cernay, the company has now brought together production, sales and central functions at a single site.
“The new campus provides the optimal environment for closer collaboration between sales, service and production. It enhances our customer closeness, promotes innovation and supports our long-term growth,” says Peter Selders, CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group.
“The campus combines our long-standing roots in Alsace with a renewed focus on the future,” added Steven Endress, president of the Endress+Hauser Supervisory Board. “It is an investment that highlights our commitment to our employees, to this region and to the sustainable growth of our business.”
The new sales building houses workspaces and meeting areas across 5,700 m2. The facilities include a customer experience center, a process training unit (PTU) for hands-on training, numerous breakout spaces and common areas and a 120-seat auditorium. The building meets environmental standards and was developed in close coordination with local employees, who actively engaged with the planning and execution phase and had input into their new work environment’s design.
To avoid paving over additional land, Endress+Hauser demolished an existing building. In the process, 96% of the total 1,405 tons of material was reused or recycled. Trees on the site were preserved or replanted.
The facility meets the requirements of France’s RE2020 environmental regulation for new buildings. It will consume about 70% less energy than the previous headquarters in Huningue, thanks to geothermal energy, photovoltaic installations, green roofs and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems. Endress+Hauser’s long-standing ties to Alsace also played an important role in the project’s implementation, with 95% of the companies involved coming from the region.
Endress+Hauser has been operating in France since 1962 and employs more than 1,000 people there. In addition to the campus in Cernay, the group has sales offices in Bordeaux, Lyon and Paris. It also has a process analytical technology site in Lyon. In addition, its subsidiary Analytik Jena has a laboratory technology solutions operation near Paris.
