Manufacturer of industrial automation, interconnect, and interface solutions Phoenix Contact (www.phoencon.com) acquired Entivity, a U.S. developer of Steeplechase and Think & Do control software products.

TÜV America (www.tuvam.com) partnered with LabTest Certification (www.labtestcert.com), a Canadian testing organization. LabTest will promote and deliver TÜV America’s product safety testing and follow-up inspection services in Canada including product safety testing to international standards (CSA, UL, EN, IEC, GS Mark, CE Marking, CB Scheme, etc.), environmental testing and factory inspections.

Pitney Bowes (www.pitneybowes.com) will integrate Cognex Corp.'s (www.cognex.com) In-Sight 4000 machine vision system into its Flowmaster and APS high-volume automatic inserter systems. At several points in the handling process, the vision system will read and verify the barcodes on each document in order to ensure that checks, notices and statements are correctly bundled and get inserted into the mailing envelope.

Curtiss-Wright Controls (www.cwcembedded.com), the motion control segment of Curtiss-Wright Corp., acquired the assets of Synergy Microsystems, a developer of board-level solutions for real-time embedded applications.
