Sweden’s Beijer Electronics Acquires U.S.-Based QSI, Giving It an Opportunity to Gain a Share of North America’s HMI Market

HMI manufacturer Beijer Electronics (www.beijerelectronics.com) has acquired QSI (www.qsicorp.com). The acquisition of the U.S. manufacturer of industrial HMI and mobile data terminals gives Sweden-based Beijer Electronics an opportunity to gain market share in North America.

“With the acquisition of QSI Corp. we get a strong local presence in North America, which is a strategically important market for Beijer Electronics,” says Magnus Ekerot, business area director of HMI products. “Among other positive things, we see great potential with the extended product portfolio designed for demanding environments and for mobile applications.”

QSI will take the Beijer Electronics name, and will become Beijer’s North American subsidiary. The company will continue to offer its rugged line of terminals in both the industrial and vehicle markets along with Beijer Electronics’ hardware and software.

“We are very excited to join forces with Beijer Electronics and to provide our customers additional software and hardware products and services,” says Barry Hobbs, QSI’s CEO.
