Omron Automation reports that after carefully examining the future sustainability of local operations in Russia and Ukraine, it has decided that it is not feasible to continue its industrial automation and electronic components businesses in Russia. As a result, the company made the decision to wind down operations of those businesses in Russia.
Omron will continue its healthcare business in Russia to the limited extent of supplying medical equipment, such as blood pressure monitors and nebulizers.
The company has monitored the situation in the region since March, when it temporarily suspended shipments into Russia and Ukraine for industrial automation, healthcare and electronic components businesses.
The company reports that this decision will have no impact on manufacturing and sales in other parts of Europe.
