The Contactron speed starter from Phoenix Contact is a soft-start device that also can control motor ramp-up and -down times while operating under torque. It has two user-settable output speeds from 0 to 500 Hz. The rotary knob and push-button interface allow rapid commissioning without software or a computer, while integrated EMC filters reduce harmful harmonics emissions. Offered with single- and three-phase input options, the device is designed to work with three-phase asynchronous motors up to 2 hp.
