Pepperl+Fuchs intrinsic safety barriers
Intrinsic safety barriers from Pepperl+Fuchs are designed to limit the energy that is supplied to a circuit and protect hazardous areas from excess energy. By limiting energy to a safe level, intrinsically safe circuits prevent the ignition of potentially explosive atmospheres and allow measurement instrumentation to operate safely in Ex-rated areas. In addition to their explosion protection function, isolated barriers offer galvanic isolation to protect measurement and control circuits from signal distortion and transient surges. These interface modules can also convert, standardize and split measurement and control signals. Pepperl+Fuchs' K-System guarantees a reliable and economical signal transmission between field devices and the control system. Whether a single isolator module or large-scale system integration—application-oriented, K-System features include DIN rail mounting, extensive product portfolio for all signals, isolated barriers and signal conditioners in the same system, reduced wiring effort, simple expansion and remote fault monitoring via universal power rail and simplified maintenance due to removable terminals with test sockets.
