These manual call points (MCPs) are designed for installation in hazardous areas, primarily for the control of fire and gas detection and alarm systems. They are available in different enclosure materials, such as STEx in 316L stainless steel for use in the harshest of environments and GNEx in antistatic, UV-stable corrosion-proof GRP. Choices of operating mechanisms include the traditional break glass with a lifting protective flap to minimize accidental operation and featuring a safety membrane to ensure that no glass fragments are released during activation, as well as a push button that protects the operating mechanism by a latching lift flap. All versions are SIL2-compliant to IEC 61508.
