EtherCat Terminals for eXtreme Fast Control (XFC) have a high data throughput and distributed clock synchronization with a jitter less than 1 μsec. The terminals offer time stamping to latch the exact system time at which edge changes occur. Output of digital values can occur at precise, predefined times. Oversampling enables actual value acquisition of set value output with higher time resolution than the communication cycle time.
