Carl Ramsden takes the helm as HIMA Group integrates Sella Controls

Carl Ramsden was named CEO of Sella Controls, a newly created position as the company is integrated into the HIMA Group.

With Carl Ramsden, the HIMA Group gains an experienced leader. He brings more than 20 years of international leadership from the industrial and technology sectors, including senior positions at a chemical company BASF and automation manufacturer Yokogawa. He has worked on both the manufacturing and end-customer fronts, giving him a comprehensive understanding of both perspectives within the industrial value chain.

As CEO of Sella Controls, Ramsden will assume overall responsibility of the company. He will also take on the responsibilities previously held by John Blackwell, who will retire on October 31.

"We are delighted to have Carl Ramsden, an experienced and strategic manager, join us in this key position. With his expertise and clear value-driven leadership style, Carl Ramsden will further accelerate growth in the process and rail industries in the UK and Ireland and help us to further expand our global position as a solutions provider," said Jörg de la Motte, CEO of HIMA Group (Figure 1).

Sella Controls was acquired by the HIMA Group in February 2023 following a long-standing partnership. The integration harmonized central IT and management systems within a short period of time. Sella Controls now serves as the regional center for the UK and Ireland and as the HIMA Group's global center of excellence for railway activities, currently employing more than 130 people at its Stockport and Ashby sites.
