'Internet of Things' Emerging to Be a Part of the Next Industrial Revolution

How is the Internet of Things (IoT) really defined? John Schmid, of the Journal Sentinel, says the Internet of the future is much more than just using social media, Netflix and email services to connect with one another. More importantly, he says, is the way Rockwell Automation has positioned itself in the center of a phenomenon that is emerging into the next industrial revolution.

IoT is defined as web-based "things" that measure, monitor and control the physical world. These technologies talk more with each other than they do with humans.
