ViDi is now part of Cognex’s vision products business unit, where its deep learning software will be integrated into the Cognex portfolio

Cognex Corporation has acquired ViDi Systems SA, developer of deep learning software for industrial machine vision.

ViDi Systems is now part of Cognex’s vision products business unit, where its deep learning software will continue to be developed and integrated into the Cognex portfolio.

ViDi’s deep learning software uses AI to improve image analysis in applications with difficult-to-predict image variations. The ViDi software then trains the system to distinguish between acceptable variations and defects.

On April 4, founder Dr. Reto Wyss and ViDi’s engineers joined Cognex, which will maintain operations in Switzerland.
