Kai Bisgwa appointed to VDMA Robotics board
Kai Bisgwa, chief regional officer, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, KUKA Germany is a new member of the board of the VDMA Robotics group.
With this appointment, Bisgwa succeeds Erich Schober, formerly CSO of KUKA Germany, who resigned from the VDMA Robotics Board in conformance with association statutory requirements.
“Since robotics plays a decisive role in the future competitiveness of the German and European economy, I am delighted about the appointment and look forward to making my contribution in the Robotics Group and play an active role in shaping the future of robotics. Continuous exchange with other companies and politicians is particularly important to me,” said Bisgwa.
The VDMA represents 3,500 European mechanical and plant engineering companies. The companies employ around 3 million people in the EU-27, more than 1.2 million of them in Germany. This makes mechanical and plant engineering the largest employer among the capital goods industries, both in the EU-27 and in Germany, according to VDMA data. Around 80% of the machinery sold in the EU comes from a manufacturing plant in the domestic market.
As part of the VDMA Robotics + Automation trade association, VDMA Robotics has 160 members, with product portfolios ranging from robot manufacturing to integration of robot systems and robotics products.
