As the number of companies undergoing digital transformation continues to grow and IIoT becomes ubiquitous, companies find their OT networks more susceptible to cyber attacks, even at the component level. The Cyber Resilience Act is designed to set cybersecurity requirements for hardware and software products with digital elements placed on the market of the EU, which could lead to similar global standards or, at the very least, force manufacturers to follow the rules if they plan to sell products in the EU.
